Qantas: profits & loss.

This infographic reported on Qantas' dramatic financial recovery, detailing a swing from a $1.8 billion loss to a record $2.47 billion pre-tax profit. The goal was to visualise this massive reversal of fortune without relying on standard, static bar charts.

I integrated a 3D model of a Qantas plane in flight. I wanted to show the plane flying past it's financial statistics, and using the clouds and the weather to depict the mood. By creating depth by allowing the aircraft to pass dynamically around the text I was able to depict the figures as something the company is flying past.

This visual metaphor instantly communicated the airline's "return to clear skies," making dry financial data feel tangible and triumphant for the viewer.
